Taya365 Mahjong Ways 2 Core Mechanics and Paytable
Mahjong Ways 2 expands the standard 5x4 grid of its predecessor into a stepped 4-5-5-5-4 layout. This geometric change increases the winning pathways from 1,024 to 2,000 Ways to Win. Winning combinations form when matching tiles appear on three or more adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel. Winning tiles shatter and trigger an avalanche cascade, allowing successive wins on a single spin.
Upgraded Tile Symbol Values and Payout Table
The symbols reflect traditional Mahjong tiles with polished 3D textures:
| Mahjong Tile Symbol | 3 Matching Reels | 4 Matching Reels | 5 Matching Reels | Payout Value Rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Green Dragon (Fa / 發) | 10x Line Bet | 25x Line Bet | 50x Line Bet | Highest Paying Classic Tile |
| Red Dragon (Zhong / 中) | 8x Line Bet | 20x Line Bet | 40x Line Bet | Premium Honor Tile |
| White Dragon (Bai / 白) | 6x Line Bet | 15x Line Bet | 30x Line Bet | Premium Honor Tile |
| Eight of Characters (8 Man) | 5x Line Bet | 10x Line Bet | 20x Line Bet | High Value Character Tile |
| Five of Circles (5 Tong) | 3x Line Bet | 8x Line Bet | 15x Line Bet | Mid Value Circle Tile |
| Five of Bamboo (5 Tiao) | 2x Line Bet | 5x Line Bet | 12x Line Bet | Mid Value Bamboo Tile |
| Two of Circles & Bamboo | 1x Line Bet | 3x Line Bet | 6x Line Bet | Base Level Suit Tiles |

Advanced Gold-Plated Tiles and Wild Ingot Mechanics
In Mahjong Ways 2, the gold-plated tile transformation system is expanded to match the increased row height of the three central reels (reels 2, 3, and 4).
The Transformation Process
- Gold-Framed Appearances: On any spin, tiles on the 5-row central reels may appear framed in gold.
- Elimination & Wild Conversion: When a gold-plated tile forms a winning combination, it does not disappear. Instead, it converts into a Wild Ingot that remains pinned in place for the following cascade.
- Multiple Wild Clusters: Because reels 2, 3, and 4 each accommodate five symbols, multiple gold tiles frequently transform simultaneously, creating clusters of Wild Ingots that link combinations across all 2,000 ways.

Multiplier Ladder Comparison: Mahjong Ways 1 vs Mahjong Ways 2
The multiplier ladder positioned above the reels rewards consecutive cascading avalanches within a single round.
Base Game Multiplier Progression
- Initial Hit: Pays at 1x multiplier
- First Cascade: Advances to 2x multiplier
- Second Cascade: Climbs to 3x multiplier
- Third Cascade & Beyond: Reaches 5x multiplier for all subsequent avalanches
Free Spins Feature (Up to 10x Multipliers)
Landing three Scatter symbols triggers the Free Spins bonus with 10 Free Spins (plus 2 extra spins for every additional Scatter):
- The multiplier values double to 2x -> 4x -> 6x -> 10x!
- All symbols on reel 3 (except Wilds and Scatters) transform into guaranteed gold-plated symbols.
- Combined with the expanded 2,000 ways geometry, reaching the 10x multiplier level routinely generates explosive multi-line payouts.

Stepped 4-5-5-5-4 Grid Probability and Full-Screen Ingot Potential
Mahjong Ways 2's enhanced 2,000-ways structure provides distinct statistical advantages over traditional flat 5x4 slot formats:
- Central Reel Symbol Density: Because the central three reels each contain five symbols compared to four on the outer reels, over 65% of the total on-screen symbol capacity is concentrated on reels 2, 3, and 4. This heavily weights the probability of forming multiple concurrent gold-plated transformations.
- Full-Screen Gold Cascade Clusters: When consecutive cascades land multiple gold tiles on reel 3, the entire central column can transform into Wild Ingots. This forms a universal wild bridge across all 2,000 ways, guaranteeing substantial payouts even with lower-tier bamboo or circle suit tiles.
- RNG Auditing & Fair Outcome Verification: PG Soft titles featured on Taya365 undergo rigorous mathematical randomness verification by BMM Testlabs and GLI. The 96.95% RTP ensures uncompromised fairness across millions of spins.
